When I first bought the table saw, I desperately needed some dust collection to combat with fine sawdust it was outputting. I went to my local Rockler store and picked up a 4″ to 2-1/2″ reducer, and a 2-1/2″ to 1-1/2″ reducer to connect my table saw dust collection port to the old hose. This setup did extract quite a lot of sawdust but I can still see some on the table. In this video, I did some test cuts after replacing the old hose with a proper 2-1/2″ dust collection hose. The test was not scientific at all but I did notice there are less sawdust sitting on the table saw table after the cut.
